Either corn con or lizzard litter with a cap full of Nu-Finish. I run them until I like the results. I've tumbled cases for as little as two hours or overnight depending how dirty they were or how clean (shiny) I wanted the finished product to be.

Start out at two hours, open the tumbler up and check, adjust as needed.

I also recommend a used dryer sheet in each batch. The sheet helps reduce the dust and keeps your media cleaner longer. If you (or your spouse if married) do not use dryer sheets (fabric softner sheets) check with your friends. We don't use them at home (I feel they can gum up the dryer and vent system) but I've asked around and two of our friends keep me in used sheets. You may also want to wear a pair of light gloves (Jersey) when you first remove the cases from the tumbler and sort them. This will help prevent possible lead exposure from the dust. Wash the gloves occasionally or replace them, they're cheap. :D

Once the media turns dark (five or six tumbles depending on how dirty your cases are) replace it. Pour the old media into a plastic Wally World bag and toss it.

40/60 mix of Lyman treated corn cob andcorn blast. Add one or 2 used Bounce drier sheets to help keep the dust down and extend the life of the media, changed after every use.

When it takes 4 or more hours to clean the brass, I change it out.

Tumbler time varies depending upon how dirty the brass is & what media or polishing additive you use. I use both the large & small Dillon tumblers depending upon how much brass i have to tumble along with a small amount of midways additive or dillons.

One thought was to use walnut hull to clean it then tumble it with corncob to polish it.

I only use walnut hull if brass hits the snow in the winter picking up some dirt when it melts down to the ground. Other than that i use corn cob.

Here is a real cheap place to get corn cob with free freight:
http://www.drillspot.com/machining/finishing-supplies/pneumatic-blasting-media/?ps=120

When i ordered it from them it had a grainger drop ship invoice in it, maybe their supplier or distributor near me to keep freight costs down???

Weidners also has media at good prices:
http://www.wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=16|605

Look at the grit sizes on both websites to make sure you get the size you want.
Just for general information. I ordered 40lbs of corn cob from Grainger. It was mailed directly from drillspot.
