Anybody have a suggested load for Hornady 185 gr HP/XTP in .45 ACP using Unique powder. Hornady does not list anything.

For 45 ACP: I shoot a fair amount of 185 grain HP XTP's with 8.0 to 8.2 grains of UNIQUE. This is a max published load. That should net you about 1,050 fps in a 5" 1911. I don't see any bad pressure signs with this load. My SA Loaded uses a target load of about 6.0 grains of Unique for the same bullet weight. Enjoy.

I also shoot a max of 8.0 grains Unique with my Rainier 185 grain plated bulllets. I know about reducing the charge due to plated bullets but at this low a velocity I don't see any problems. I keep plated bullets below 1,150 fps.
