My pops, Sal ( a Vietnam vet) was showing his neighbor Jack (a WW2 vet) his militia collection this afternoon. Jack, now 96 years old, served as an MP during the PTO. Jack asked my dad if he would like to have and display his 1943 Remington Rand which he brought back after the war. Additionally, Jack is giving my dad period pictures during his time in the PTO along with a variety of other memorabilia... medals, papers, belts and his holster! Couldn't have gone to a better home!

Jack looks pretty sprightly for being 96 years old. Here's hoping he hangs around at least another decade.

By the way, if your dad can have Jack write up a brief history of his service and document his possession of the pistol it will add a considerable amount of collector's interest as it adds provenance to the weapon. Unless of course he has the serial number already recorded on documentation somewhere.
