:):)Hi, All:
I would like to start a new thred on Old style or Vintage leather Holsters for our beloved Colts. How about sharing our pictures of them? For those of us that like the old style leather holsters, as well as the new style, more practical
plastic holsters of today, let's share the pictures of our old style holsters, and tell why they appeal to us. Here is a George lawrence of Portland Oregon for a 1911.

Well I dont really know how old this Milt Sparks Holster is, but it is the slickest smoothest drawing holster I own, just amazing!! It doesnt look anything like his current work so maybe someone here will recognize it's age.

Demand remains strong for some of the vintage designs. I receive orders regularly for the classic Tom Threepersons' style, full flap holsters, and others dating back to the early 20th Century.

A few years ago I located a photo of Tom Threepersons' original holster, made and hand-carved by "Tio Sam", S.D. Myres Saddlery, c. 1920. With that photo I was able to commission an excellent leather carver to recreate the "Texas Rose" carving pattern. These are extremely popular rigs for the Colt Single Action Army and vintage double-action revolvers, and quite a few 1911 afficianadoes seem to appreciate the style as well.

There is something aestheticly pleasing about the classic holsters, and it is always a pleasure to finish one for a customer.

All of the old style holsters apeal to me, New, or if they have been used and taken care of. Lobo you have done a great job of keeping the old style holsters, and the old craftsmanship alive. Here is one, a Clark holster with a heavy duty belt clip, for a Colt Detective Special revolver.

That is a classic Milt Sparks 1AT Rig. I used one with a straight drop extensively in the late 80's and early 90's. Back in my skinnier days I actually dressed around that rig daily in Southern California, and I carried a Stainless Govt. Model in it while working a crime suppression team. I still have the rig, but sadly sold the matching belt because it somehow shrunk A LOT over the last 20 years.

This rig is not a vintage rig yet but is destined to be one.

Plain Jane .45 Auto

Hey, Body Armor Guy:
That Safariland rearward cant QD holster looks like a dead ringer in black for the tan one I showed in Post #10.
Here is a plain jane holster a Bianchi #19 .45 Auto that I some day would like to replace with a basketweave model.

I like this one too. Want to get one for my Olympic arms trailboss. Think it'd look pretty cool.
