Im looking at either the vz gator backs or aliens to carry on my govt 1911 IWB for every day carry. I usually don't wear an undershirt, so at least some of the time the grips will be against my bare skin. Will the aliens be too abrasive for this or should they be ok?

Neither would be my choice both to aggressive for IWB IMO.. The ETC would be my choice of the VZ grips for IWB... But of the 2 you choose I would go with the gator backs for sure..

I've owned a set of blasted black canvas Gatorgrips since they first came out. They are still my favorite, and still on my regular gun. They do discolor after time, but provide a wonderful grip, wet or dry, without being abrasive.

With a undershirt I don't have any problems with my Aliens but without I'd bet there would be some discomfort

I always wear an undershirt or t-shirt under my cover shirt and my pistol, no matter what grips. It only makes sense. Especially since I wear a tucked t-shirt and an open cover shirt.

I agree. I wore the more aggressive Operators II with an undershirt under them for years with no problems. Any grips are fine as long as you dress for them.
