Weapon Light

I have a Kimber Custom II and want to attatch a light. Does anyone know anything about a Dawson Precision Rail vs. The Surefire Classic 610R. The Surefire is $280 but doesnt require gunsmithing, however it wont fit in a Safariland Holster and with the Dawson, I could pick any model light. Anyway, if anyone has experience with either I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

I have a Surefire "old school" light mount on my Para P-14. You may have a problem getting a holster for it, and if you get the one like mine with an allen screw against the trigger guard, it'll dent the trigger guard and could screw with your functioning with mine. I think the new one is spring loaded instead. It seems there is a small window of tension with my pistol where the light it tight enough but doesn't cause the gun to malfunction. I use it only as my backup gun in case my Operator goes down. When I got it, that was about all that was available to me, but I don't give it high marks now. Wish I could help you with the Dawson, but I don't have one. I've heard a lot of good things about it. One thing to keep in mind is that if get it, I think you need to get an adapter to use most lights...not sure though. I'm sure someone here will pipe up. Good luck.
