I'm looking to conquer new territory and Wesson seems like the next logical step. I'm eyeballin' a DW Specialist but something doesn't seem right. Every manufacturer I can think of requires more money for their stainless versions than they do black/blued. So why is it Dan wants $300 more for the dark one, what's so special about this particular Specialist?

Also the dark Duty Treatment isn't just a painted on coating. It's actually bonded to the SS underneath it and that alone has to cost more and it seems cost competitive with other bonded substances like Ionbond. It is also the only "coated gun" that I own whose coating has been both scratch and chip proof after a year of use. Any other coated gun I've ever owned usual scratches and chips just from careful shooting the first time it goes to the range or gets carried in a holster. And I'm careful when I use my weapons unlike the other ham-fisted clutzes on this sub forum.
