Hello,
First, I hope I'm not off topic and I apologize if I am. I have an older pistol (Remington UMC) that has a broken part and a missing safety mechanism. I was wondering what are some of the larger and better suppliers of older hard to find gun parts out there?

I would just like to know the names of suppliers/businesses that have help others find those hard to find parts. Any names or internet links would be great. For example, though I wasn't able to find what I was looking for, Jack First Gun Shop, seemed pretty impressive to me. Any others would be helpful?

If you want a part to get it shooting safe, then the places mentioned will be great. if you want a correct remington part, head down to the USGI section and post what you have and what you need for it. Those fellows know their stuff and can point you to an original part. Post a pic if you can.

Actually the gun is a Remington UMC Model 51 .380 with a cracked frame. It probably would be easier to just buy a another gun for parts, but I thought I would try.

Well that changes the entire story. Sorry to hear that you have a cracked frame I know this would depress me a bit. If you really want to shoot the gun you might have a good smith look at the entire problem and see if adding a weld patch would restore the frame strength. More than likely you now just have a nice piece to look at.
