I had my mind made up to buy a new Colt Gold Cup, but have been reading up on the Patriot lately.
It sounds like a great gun, but I note that they need tweaked before they are ready to run.
Just what work do these guns need to get them up and running?
Just curious. Steve

The biggest problem seems to be the extractor. Once that gets adjusted properly most problems disappear. The mags sometimes will give you problems but thats also an easy fix.
These problems are on any 1911 formated pistol not just DW's.

Yote - he said "patriot" - so probably not the extractor since it's external?

Seems the problems w/the patriots have been breaking small parts. Mine broke a mag catch, 2 mainspring housing pins, plunger housing. Other than that it is very reliable and accurate.

I'm replacing all the small parts, just don't want to play the lottery like this with a match gun.

A friend has one and his had some small problems, and still doesn't lock back on empty mag, but other than that it is reliable and accurate.

This is the type of "tweaking" I think that folks are talking about re: the patriot.
