I just came back from my favorite firearm emporium and left with my first Kimber. A Tactical Custom II. It is everything I want in a 1911 and some features I did not know I wanted until I saw them. The external extractor seems beefy and tight. All corners are well rounded. NiteSites are very easy to pick up in daylight. Checkering is fine and smooth. Magwell is perfect imho. Never liked ambi safeties but the right side is very narrow so I think I can get used to it. The big bonus is the lightweight aluminum frame for this older arthritic man in a full size 1911 with a firing pin block for peace of mind in my old age. I love this pistol!

Congrats. Let us know how it shoots and how you like it.

I'm considering one myself, which if I'm successful, will be my third Kimber.
