What is your back up gun (bug) to your 1911 and where do you carry it?

Pocket Holster for my Kel Tec 3-AT and a Galco Ankle Glove for my 642. Fixed blade CRKT knife strapped to the vest. I can get to something from any postition if my CBOB is out of the fight.

I carry a S&W 340PD scandium five shot .357 magnum on my vest, under my left arm, under my shirt. Ammo is the Speer 125gr Gold Dot, full power .357 load.

I just changed from a Springfield XD9 sub-comapct to a XD 45. I carry it in a vest holster, when I am in a patrol car. When I am on my motor, I use a shirt holster made by Concealment Ts

Colt Pony, it's usually in the place where my 1911 should be... High side right, in an owb Bianchi shadow... 6+1 and no spare mags....

Sometimes a Colt Dick Special... (fit's in the same holster)

s&w 442 in off side (left) front pocket. After 30 years changing from a J frame is just not an option. When I first started An FTO told me to carry it weak side. His reasoning was I already had one gun strong side. I should have my BUG weak side in case strong hand/arm/gun became inoperable.

vest or ankle, which is more comfortable for daily carry? Still trying to decide on what to carry for a bug.

Vest is faster and easier to get to and I think more comfortable. I used to use an ankle.

Back when I was in uniform, a Colt Defender on the ankle backed up my full-size Kimber 1911.

In plain clothes now I just carry the Defender.
