It is a simple question for me. I love bullseye. I've used it since the 80s and have worked up so many good shooting loads with it that I could feed just about all my handguns with it. So many accurate loads can be had with it that I think it is the best powder of them all. So curious if there are new powders out there that others feel is better than bullseye?

Rounds I load most are:
1. 9mm
2. 45acp
3. 38 super
4. 38 special
5. 380 auto
Mostly WIN231/HP38 (same thing). Also use Unique, Titegroup, Zip, Bullseye, couple others. Trailboss for any cowboy stuff - though it is dirty. WIN296 for magnums and 300AAC.

I keep my eyes open, spend time (too much, probably) at the range, and buy stuff that others get rid of. If you aren't doing precision shooting, most any appropriate powder works. Load data available from the manufacturers or Ammoguide.

I don't overthink it too much. I've never really had accuracy issues with any powder.

I load for a lot of different calibers/cartridges (over 70 - though some are fairly esoteric and I don't often hand-load for them) - I might have a favorite powder/load for most of them but no one powder stands out for all of them.

None of the cartridges on the OP list are among my "top three" handgun cartridges though one, the .45 Auto, is close - but while .45 Auto-rim is hands down my favorite it is only so loaded long with a slow burning powder, but .480 Ruger is catching up fast - still the .45 Auto-rim is likely more versatile (as to the number of things I can do with it with the same sight setting). That said, I've never tried a light load in .480?

For the cartridges listed, limited though they are, something middle range, like Universal Clays or HS-6 or Longshot (or anything else like them) might be good - I'd like to say Unique but they changed it, and I'd have to work out a new standard load for each caliber - I haven't gotten around to that yet - still it would have to be in the list of candidates.

HP-38 and Unique are my favorite handgun powders. You can load so many calibers with these powders, and with notable variances in fps.

If you don't mind weighing your loads, Unique is one of the very best powers for handgun loads, especially 9mm. At one time Major George Nonte favored it for his 9mm loads and he loaded HOT. Over the years I used a lot of it but I stopped using Unique because of the volume I load and it doesn't meter well.

What’s the One Pistol Powder that folks think can do the most?
For pistol, probably Unique. If you like the simplicity of having one or few powders for many calibers, it’s a solid choice. For me, it’s just never been the most accurate powder. Bullseye works for a lot of target applications AND is often the most accurate powder but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case with 9mm. Just my personal experience.

I like Bullseye as well, but Unique can load everything from small cartridges to .357 and .44 Mag. The way I read the OP’s opening statement was Powder in the singular sense. If I could have just one it would be Unique. Haven’t seen any for a while; mostly newer powders when you do find them. Presently HP-38 has been showing up, and I can make it work in a good variety of pistol cartridges.

I have use Unique and quite a few other pistol powders over the years. A few years ago the guy who owns the gun shop where I bought all my supplies for reloading suggested Ramshot True Blue. I tried it and was very pleased with it. I load all my pistol calibers with it. Ramshot True Blue meters perfect in a progressive press like my Dillion, it burns clean and its accurate. It may not give maximum velocities, but that's not an issue for me. I load .38spc .357mag .41mag and .45acp pistol calibers. True Blue is my favorite pistol powder. Favorite rifle powder is Hodgdon Varget.
