I just acquired a parkerized Norinco as a tinkering piece, and I'm wondering exactly what I can do in terms of upgrades/modifications without refinishing the gun. I might send it to someone for that later, but I don't have a beadblast cabinet, and am not in a position to get one any time soon.

So far I'm guessing:

- Drop in magwell
- Ambi safety
- New grips
- Extended Slide stop
- Trigger
- Barrel and bushing (probably won't do that though)
- Mag catch (not a big priority)

What am I missing?

I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but I suppose the shoe fits.

Thanks for the help.

I had low-mount Bo-Mar installed without refinishing, but in general, that mod does require it.

I don't think an extended slide stop is a good idea. They have a habit of engaging before the magazine is empty. The long lever can get bumped by your thumb or it can just flip up in recoil

I'd put on a fitted beavertail. The main cut surfaces are under the extension. If you have to swamp out the back edges of the frame for the high hand hole, just slap on some cold blue.
