I thought I heard that regular HP adoesn't feed well.
i heard there is some HP ammo that has a piece of plastic in the center which could make it feed better. Also, has anyone tried Winchester white box PP [it's probably cheaper], but I am happy to pay whaterver for the best /reliable. thanks

I've had great luck with Winchester White Box, both in FMJ and JHP.

You should just buy one box each of popular defense loads and try them all. Use the kind that functions the best FOR YOU and your pistol. No two pistols (especially 1911s) are alike, so you have to determine what ammo works for you. Gold Dots and Hydra-Shoks have worked well for me in the past.

i am going to run some jhp's and others through my eclipse target after i get it back from the trigger job. i am eager to try shooting nonfmj's as well. have only shot fmj's to this point in all my .45's...will find out what they can handle different loads like all my "plastic pistol's" can.
