Help, guys...How do I convince my wife I need another Colt (Special Combat Gov't Competition)? Never mind the fact that I can't even find one.
Already have 3 Colts, including 2 Gold Cups, but NOT ENOUGH. I've already used the following excuses: "Hey, Colts' going out of business...gotta move quick"...or "Sure would be nice to have a SS Gold Cup to go with the blue one"...or..."Look what was just sitting under the glass at the gun shop-can you believe it?
So, gentlemen (or ladies!) if you have any ideas I haven't already thought of, please let me know!

Tell her the truth. That you are hopelessly addicted to her beautiful eyes and hourglass figure, and that you can't get enough of her good lovin'. An hour later, while she's still basking in the afterglow, you rush out and buy the Colt. By the time you get home, all will be forgiven!

I have used the "Honey I'm only trying to get the best possible tool to protect you and "insert as appropriate - our children, way of life, possessions, etc." and this is the best tool for us now. ;-}

I'm with Ledbetter on this one. My wife still thinks I have only two pistols! I kind of sometimes go to the grocery store or Wally World for her and get the 'ole cash back trick with the Visa Check. She never balances the account or reads the ledgers. If I'm not greedy and do a little at a time, I've got enough for my Sistema!

Better wait until you're 21, and can move out and legally buy your own. Moms know EVERY square inch of the house.

Trust me, I learned that the hard way many years ago.

Any time I get a new gun I make sure I get my wife something real nice. Maybe that new washer/dryer she's been wanting. She's going to buy it anyway so make it a gift and while you're out pick up something fun for yourself as well. Actually my wife prefers small shiny things.

"Honey you buy Mutual Funds, I invest in guns. When the crap hits the fan I think my investments will be worth more than yours and if you're real nice to me I will let you use one,since you'll be broke." That one worked for awhile. good luck

Work her slow. I start about six months out getting her used to the idea. She never likes these conversations, but she gets this overwhelming feeling that she is going to be overcome. Then sneak out, throw out the cash and get it back to the safety of the safe ASAP. As soon as possible, go get her some flowers.

Oh they know what happened, but as long as you don't get pinned down with a wad of cash walking out the door or worse yet when your pulling cash out $200 -$300 a time from the ATM for the purchase. That week of the final purchase is hairy. One wrong move and your buying her or the kids shoes, dinner, dental, and then you have to regroup and resave the money!

Our anniverserary (13th) is this Sunday. Talking with a guy at work about what I should get her. I mentioned a Keltec .32. He offered to buy it from me when the surgeon removes it from my @$$ and only after it is cleaned off.

OK here is how I do it..I take her to the gun shop with ( don't panic yet fellas !)....I go over to where there are a few Wilsons or whatever their high end display pieces are this week.Then while examining the $2,000 piece of hardware and mumbling something about this is the one I have been wanting for sooo long. Well after she sees the price and freeks..I say well lets see if they have anything else but this is the one I want......then we go look at the rest of the cases and I just so happen to see a series 70 Colt Gov....( just so happened this is the one I really wanted and had looked at 4 times this week !! )..well she asks " How much is this one ?"...while she is still recovering from the $2000 sticker shock I say " Wow..only $550 !! "...She says get that one instead...

This has worked twice so far...but she is a redhead and I know she will catch on...or maybe she really doesn't care and just knows that with every gun purchase comes dinner and flowers either before or/and after the purchase.....
well gotta go...call the sitter to see if she can watch the kids tonight...going out to dinner.....
