Hey! I was curious for those of you that carry a 1911 on duty. When you are clearing buildings etc., do you keep the safety on, finger off trigger or safety off, finger off trigger? I have been trying both but feel better with safety on. Just wondering. thanks for the read.

I always keep finger off trigger and saftey on. I keep my thumb on saftey can sweep it quick and fire. I dont take the saftey off unless shooting.

Ditto. Us senior types need to keep it simple, I don't recall why

Gun out of holster = safety off, in holster (or going to the holster) = safety on

Sights on target = finger on trigger, Sights off target = finger *off* trigger (does not matter if you have a 3 or 50 pound trigger).
