When I got home from work today.....

I noticed that the front storm door was ajar so I had to take a look. Low and behold, there was a white box sitting there. A white box from Lou Alessi is something that causes heart flutters in those of us that know good leather and great holster makers. I, just to make it even better, set the box aside, changed ny clothes, fixed something toe at, ate and the opend the box. Kind of like a kid on Christmas, I knew that whatever it held, it was going to be good - unless it was the package from my Aunt that always gave me a sweater - but I digress, the box held a IWB holster for the (as if you could not guess) 1911. The prettiest two tne holster one could ask for. And the aroma of an Alessi holster wafting past my nose. I was in heaven, so much better than any dumb sweater.

The bag said IWB GOVT but did not list the model name. I did a search of the forum for Son's and other pictures of the various Alessi holsters so I could see what it was I received. It was not one of Lou's CQC/S holsters but it looked like the one he had made for Son's Kahr, only grown up.

After a brief struggle, I had the new holster snapped on my belt and rig nestling behind my hip. I think I am going to like this rig, I know I'm going to really like this rig. Hell, I'm damned sure that I'm going to love this rig.

Thank you, Lou.

Sounds like you have the CQC/I
I agree! It's a great holster that's very well built. Did you get two sets of belt loops too?

Only one set of loops.

Now, when the ivory stocks get here. Oh, my......

Jim. Glad you like that holster. I'll have to give Mary Lou a gentle slap for forgetting the other loop. Can't be too hard on her though, because she pretty much runs the operation, and if she decided to go on strike, I'd be out of business. She's been with me for 22 years. I think she deserves a
gold medal.

Lou,
I have a question for you regarding IWB holsters. Do you make any others besides the Talon and the one for Dane Burns? Can a CQC be modified by fliping the loops the other way and extending the back side for a sweat shield (I don't know what it's normally called, the extended leather part on the back that extends upward to protect your gun from sweat and you from getting scratched by the hammer.) Just curious.
The Kahr fit inside the holster to the "T" from day one. Here's mine for the MK9:

Well, if I ever get the scanner to work correctly I'll post a photograph of the CQC/I for the 1911A1. The major problem with the holster is that is so dadgum good looking I want to wear it in the open.

Lou, don't you dare even think of giving Mary Lou the least of slaps. Not unless you want the FRIENDS OF MARY LOU ASSOCIATION after you. LOL

Son, thank you of posting the pictures of your CQC/I for your Kahr. That way the members can get an idea of what the holster looks like.

I like this holster, damned if I don't.

Mustang: go to www.rfholsters.com We also make an IWB called "The Hideout", and the new, Watch Six Dual Talon (not pictured yet), which you can also buy from Tony Kanaley at www.miltsparks.com As far as modifying the CQC/S, that would be a complete re-design, and any benefit derived from that is already in the Watch Six Dual Talon holster. All of our IWB holsters do have a sweat shield that covers the back of the gun.
Thanks,
Lou
