Where to Buy?

1008 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  itsgeorger
Just bought a Kimber Ultra CDP, and I want to pick up a few mags. Seems the favorites here are Wilson & Baer. Is it best to go to the manufacturers, or can they be purchased from retail outlets/mail order/internet sites? can anyone offer suggestions?

Thanks,

Kevin

I have found some of my Wilson's on the web in sites like Gunbroker, and here...

You can certainly go straight to the source, or look for a "retailer" that might have better pricing.

Sometimes, going through Shotgun News will one give lot's of choices.

Not sure what you want to do, but with the Compact (Officers) frames, I have usually kept a few flush base mags for the maximum concealed profile, and carried full size spare to reload with. The extra .4" of mag sticking out comes in handy for some to provide more gripping surface, and you pick up a round.

Wilson's actually offers an 8 round for the Officers, but it's got a tab welded on the body to prevent over insertion, so it's not usuable in a full size gun...

Personally, I don't worry about the over insertion issue. It can cause you grief if you slam the mag home, but you can wrap some black electrians tape around the mag base to limit the insertion depth, or buy the little plastic grip extenders that fit over the mag similar to those used on the 10 round CMC's.

Enjoy you new aquisition...
