If the oddball magazine was a Playboy, ask the kids were it went, bet you find it.

I store things that I can't find all the time. The most amazing part is I have a special storage only safe room that I use but I still can't find the dang things when I need them.

Recently, (that's a relative term) I was looking for the N95 masks I stored in there about 12 years ago. I figured since all these people are scrambling to find masks because of the Covid BS, I've already have it covered. I use the N95's at work from time to time but I just couldn't find the ones I put in storage around 2011. There's only one room to search and I couldn't find them! Two years later, after all the Covid BS settled down and just like clockwork, I'm looking for something else in that room and what do I find? Right there out in the obvious, if was a snake it would've bit me, there's the masks.

My advice is go search your house for something else and you'll find your magazine.

I miss place things all the time, and find new things I had forgotten about while looking for the missing items. LOL I was looking for my scope alignment and mounting tools and found a new in box Leupold 3.5 x10 VX 3i just sitting in a box full of factory hunting ammunition. I don't remember even buying it, it must have been while I was still living in Montana. That was a nice find. I can only hope for more in time LOL. I found a bag of 500 new Starline 9x19 brass last week in the bottom of a box?? Don't remember buying them either. Maybe I will find a pistol to go with Ha Ha

Am I the only idiot that does this.
I just went out of town for the weekend and there was this oddball magazine sitting on my bench.
Hard to find, expensive etc so I figure I will just put it out of sight in the off chance some idiot breaks in and pockets it.

Two weeks later and that magazine is missing in action.
I have NO ideal where I might have thought was sufficiently ‘out of sight’.
So another episode of turning the house upside down to find the damn thing.

The worse ever was a BHP I stashed somewhere- it took me two years to find it..

I keep hoping on one of these searches I’ll find something another home owner here stashed up in the rafters.
THAT hasn’t happened yet but I’m still missing a case of 5.56 and an oddball magazine..

What I do is write notes on sticky notes that indicate where I put stuff. But most of the time "I forgot" where the sticky notes went. Back to square one.

I resemble that remark. I have a mind like a steel trap, a very rusty steel trap. Had to buy headed depriming pins yesterday as I couldn’t find the last ones that I bought. Doh.

Done stupid crap like that myself. I lost my first 1911 for over 12 years and found it. I have lost my AR Pistol kit and not yet found it. I am 69 and have brain fog issues.

I will admit to misplacing, and even losing things.
But, this 1911 lost gun of yours, that you somehow eventually found after more than 12 years later... Well, Sir, that's a story I'm so very curious to know more about. Please share that story with us, if you wouldn't mind too much doing so 👍

Wow- I really don’t know how much I should admit to here….

Well I got to the range today with the gun and look in the range bag- there is the magazine.
I forgot I had found it and put it in the bag.
Thing is having forgot I had found it I kept looking and found two others which went to the range with me in addition to the “lost” one.
So on the bright side I found all the missing magazines.

Funny. I know that I have a new/unused Winchester M14 trigger group and operating rod from the same rifle. If you put a gun to my head, I couldn't point you to it. They're here somewhere

Constantly. I buy things for use around the house, then I put them away so they don't get "lost", then I can't remember where I put them.
I buy all sorts of accessories at auctions, and of course everything comes in a box. So I sort through everything and consolidate items into other boxes so I can get rid of some boxes. Then, of course, when I want to grab a particular accessory I can't remember which box I put it in, or which room I put the box in.
The end result is going through boxes looking, and discovering I just bought something I already had but didn't remember buying.
I've got a LOT of stuff...

My gun/reloading room is just small room in our basement. And sometimes I stash a currently unused item wherever it will fit. Later I can't seem to locate it when needed .... I'm thinking, "How can I lose things in a room this small?" But then this shooting guns hobby is filled with lots of small pieces, parts and things we only use now and then ... and they have to go somewhere.

All too familiar with the issue. Somewhere around here is a Vortex Venom RDS that I took off a pistol and I have no idea where I put it for safe keeping.

Years ago I had a stack on gun locker. Put the key somewhere for safekeeping and never found it again. Ended up using a sawzall to access the locker, then threw it away.

I've definitely put things away for 'safe keeping' and put them in such a safe spot that even I will never find them. Happens most often with pocket knives or small things like that.
