I have accidentally double posted, or posted something in the wrong place, and the site won't let me delete it. Why is that?

ok, that explains why I can't delete, anyone want to elighten me as to why it is the way it is? am I missing something here, or isn't the ability for a member to delete their own posts a good thing?

Who cares? You can go back, edit your post by manually deleting it, thus reaching the same goal. No big deal.

It's not the same thing, and, I care.

Sometimes editing is not enough you just want to delete the entire post.

No flames just a suggestion.

no, that's just it, I either don't know how to, or can't "manually delete it". I'm not sure what you mean by that. I can clear the message box, or type in "double post", but I can't delete it.

Well, you can't actually delete the whole post - you can only manually delete the text of the post.

It is the way our software is set up.

Only 1911Forum Staff can delete a post completely.

No offense taken, that's why I put the in there.

Is it just that because of the way the software is written.....if given the "power" to delete threads, by the nature of the software we would have the "power" to delete all threads and not just our own?

Does that make sense?

I do not want to be able to delete any other threads but my own mistaken or stupid replies.........
