Which WC magazine do you prefer and why? 7 or 8 rounds?

Wilson 8 rds. Never had any problems at all. The link that Mark IV pointed to over at Pistolsmith is good ol' Teddy's view of the subject. Not that it is necessarily wrong, but there are not a lot of followers of that opinion. If you feel "better" with a 7 rd. mag, great. I have no fear carrying my 8 rd. mags to protect my life.

I always load any of my mags "minus one." I have 8 rd. Wilsons for my Colt, which I only load 7 in.

Hey Shane,

Why not just use the 7 round Wilsons?

I hear that the spring on the 7 rounders is sized for 7 rounds, and the follower is longer, preventing it from tipping within the magazine body.

I believe that the further that you depart from the original design, the more likely it is that you will have problems.

I don't know Teddy, but I think I can trust the judgement of Clint Smith on this matter.

Shane, you have more experience than I do with 1911 style pistols, and I respect your opinions.

I have never had a problem with a 8 round Wilson.
