If I buy a Wilson bullet proof slide stop and a Wilson ambi safety from Wilson...........

Do I need a gunsmith to put these parts in my Wilson CQB?

I'm not a gunsmith and this is my first 1911, but do these parts really require gunsmithing?

The bullet proof slide stop for the most part is a drop in part which may or may not require minor fitting. The Ambi-Safety is a little more complicated and in your case, will most likely require the services of a qualified Gunsmith...as this part directly affects the safety function of the pistol. To preserve your warranty, you should consider sending it back to Wilson to be refitted and the parts Armor-Tuffed to match your frame.

Good question mowerman. I was just considering buying a bulletproof slide stop for my CQB and I was wondering the exact same thing.

Why do you have to change the slide stop?
