I bought a 8 pound barrel of WST at the Sportsman's Warhouse the other day. I noticed that the powder has the same gray color as the discontinued
452AA. 5.4 grains of 452AA produces 855 fps in my 5 inch Springer with
an SD of 7. Can anyone confirm that I can duplicate this load with 452AA?

Do you mean "can I duplicate this load with WST"?

If so, probably not. WST is not the same as 452AA, it was the replacement for 452AA. I have only used it for light target loads, but the best I can tell it is slightly faster burning and would take a lower charge weight.

Winchester load data is now on the Hodgdon web site since Hodgdon has taken over their distribution.

I tried 452AA for Ipsc matches a long time ago. I developed the loads in April and thought I was set for the season. Boy was I surprised when I found out the hard way that velocities with this powder decreased as temps increased. I switched back to 231 immediately; still have some of the 452 left.
