PLANNING TO GET A SA 1911 PARKERIZED MODEL. DONT CARE TO MUCH FOR THE FIXED 3 DOT COMBAT SIGHT. I PLAN TO SET PISTOL UP FOR DEFENSE AND IDPA ETC.

MY VISION IS CORRECTED BY GLASSES/CONTACTS BUT ALWAYS A WORRY THAT I'LL BLINK OUT MY CONTACTS OR LOOSE MY GLASSES WHEN I NEEDED TO SHOOT.

LOOKED AT XS 24/7 BIG DOT AND STANDARD DOT SIGHTS. ALSO THOUGHT ABOUT KING-TAPPAN.

ANY IDEADS ON WHICH WOULD BE BETTER OR ANOTHER SIGHT SYSTEM THAT COULD BE RECOMMENDED ?

THANKS:)

XS vs King-Tappan Sights

Thanks Castlebravo.

I found a web site for Yost-Bonitz Handguns.

I have been tossing around wether to mill the slide or not for sights.

Part of me wants to mill the other part wants to hold up until I gain some experience with a handgun before I cut the slide.

I thought once the front sight was dovetailed for XS that was it. Since the XS requires a diffrent size dovetail than Heine or Novak.

I also looked at Wilson Combat sights.

Well more to think about.:)
