My understanding is that any (non NFA) firearm that is more than 50 years old is OK to purchase with a C&R FFL. Does this mean I can legally purchase any (non NFA) firearm mfg'd in 1950? Is it the specefic gun or the model? Can I buy a 51 year old Colt 1911 or does that have to go through a 01 FFL?

I hope I've written what I'm trying to ask.
