That's the camera that's new & improved... ;)

I got this Delta Elite back from Ted several months ago, but now that I've finally got a decent camera I figured I could show it off a bit better. :D

This is just indoors, with crappy lighting & drastically reduced in size, but the pics still look way better than the old ones did. I've attached a somewhat bigger one that does a much better job of showing off the gun.

Ted did the following work on the gun:

Fit frame & slide
Fit ramped Schuemann Ultimatch AET barrel, supplied
Hand filed magazine well bevel
Colt 80 series grip safety
Novak front sight, installed
Yost-Bonitz rear sight, installed
Crown barrel, 11deg, .065” rad.
Colt hammer, bob & high cut
Trigger job, EGW hard sear, BCP long trigger
EGW square f/p stop, fit
Cut plug tunnel for reverse plug
Briley reverse plug, fit, with FLGR flush fit
Flatten slide sides
Aftec extractor, polish and tune
Ed Brown plain MSH, serrated at 30lpi
Restake P-tube and 4 stock bushings
Complete dehorning
Cosmetic cleanup on frame & slide
Satin matte hard chrome finish

Recoil spring was a 20 lb Wolff variable with a CP shock buffer. It groups well under 1" @ 25 yards with cheap ammo and feeds anything, my mission for next year is to see how small the groups get with the good stuff.

Dang, you guys are greedy for pictures! :D

Here is the same sight on a different gun:

(I really like this sight... it is as good or better than most of the "custom" sights out there, but looks more traditional & you don't need to cut the slide to install it).

I've lost track of your Delta saga! I thought you sold your pistol a while back? Is this a different one, or did you not end up selling it?

Regardless, it looks pretty sweet. The muzzle crown is just the way I like it (deep). Very nice.

Actually, here is what happened:

Lost my job due to massive layoffs, had to sell the 1st Delta (done by Dane Burns).

Got a new job, was considering having Ted Yost do the gun, but he suggested Dave Berryhill as somebody to consider to work on it (since Ted knew Dave & Dave was local to me).

Dave wound having to move out-of-state & Ted did the work on the gun.

Dave moved to Arizona... & now works for Ted at Yost-Bonitz Custom.

Who's on first. What's on second?

Yeah, I figured it went down something like that!

CB:

Did you consider having Ted do his stippling to the frontstrap? Mine is at Ted's right now (the whole gun--not just the frontstrap :) ) and I'm thinking about it. I like the plain look but I'm a believer in gripping the gun front and back, not side and side.

I thought I heard that Dave Berryhill was there now. Wonder if that decreases lead time any.

(Damn my impatient nature and my appreciation for custom work...)
