You change holsters and mag pouches from your carry equipment.

You change guns from your carry gun.

You don't have any carry guns or equipment.

You use a kydex holster and treat it with Armor-All.

You have special shoes you only wear to matches.

You have special ammo you only use at matches.

You have special pants you only wear to matches.

You argue with the RO.

You won't RO, score, paste or pick up brass because it disrupts your concentration.

None of your guns have night sights.

You have 6" long speed loaders for your revolvers.

You don't own any ammo that exceeds 700 fps.

You spend at least one range session per week practicing the classifier.

Your Groucho walk is the envy of all who see you do it.

You won't go to the range without a printed plan of practice.

You try to get the course designer to give you the COF's on Wed.

Just for fun

Well at least I can't be accused of sandbagging. Is this one of those deals where if you do just one of them you are a gamer, or can you do a few and still get by?

I am a gamer, don't forget if one is an IDPA shooter:
Knee pads, cargo pants with wide pockets for quick storage of tact. reload mags, weighted vest pocket or flexicuff in the lapel, mag chute, fiber optic front sight, S & W 625, .38 Super and Glock 34 shooters.

Be careful with the ArmorAll if you use a Glock. Things can get so slick you can't hold onto your gun!!

BillD,

I think you came up with the "Gamer Classifier". Here's how you score it.

There are sixteen possible correct answers. Score the number of correct answers.

13-16 Master
10-12 Expert
7 - 9 Gamer Sharp Shooter
4 - 6 Marksman Gamer
1 - 3 Novice Gamer

I barely scored a 4 (MM Gamer). There is room for improvement. Luckily I shoot with a number folks that will score expert or master. I'll be sure to watch them and learn. They know who they are.

I am guilty of only 14. If I had a revolver I would have scored higher. Is it OK to "tip" the RO before you shoot?

Finally!! A place that jokes about being a gamer. Seems like every other place I visit looks down on us people that actually "play the game" rather than use IDPA as training. I scored about 11 on the above, with a few more that wasn't listed

have a good day,

I would like to weigh in on that thing about tipping the RO's. Should that be it's own thread?

Actually, I treated my kydex mag pouches with silicone spray lube as soon as I got them...

"tipping" the RO's doesn't do you any good.. You have to learn to tip the scorekeeper..
I usually am a scorekeeper, so I don't need to game anywhere else.
