As the proud owner of the second to last longslide pictured (smitten, really :p) ... The choice is simple: machine the slides for a Lo-Mount Trijicon RMR.

What's really important, though, is Bob's commitment to the 10mm cartridge and industry! A gentleman and a scholar. (ps Bob, my longslide is an AMAZING piece of mechanical excellence)

"so, where do we take the long slide hunter next?"

"So, where do we take the long slide hunter next?"

Slab side with full length dust cover, with and w/o full length rail. It would be the best if it was offered on single and double-stack frames. The extra weight would tame even the hottest 10mm loads.

Fusion already offers the widest array of options/configurations currently available for 1911s, based on what I have seen here.

Yes, That is a great idea.... One of the projects we are working on right now is the Grand Sport hunter in a full 6 inch Slab-side style... Thanks for the comments and we will keep you posted..

Nice heaters! Could someone please tell me where I can get more info on the sight mount that utilizes the rail on the dust cover? Maker?

Here is a beautiful Traditional Hunter combo in satin Chrome, this Combo with 2 top ends, one in 10mm and one in 40 S&W. Other options; Bomar Style adjustable sight with fiber optic front, Mag-Well, Big button mag release, and VZ operator II Grips… John is out deer hunting with this pistol… We will see if he brings something home. Thanks again to john Wayne D. for this super nice pistol combo.

I am thinking of getting back into deer hunting and want to go with a pistol for the challenge. I really like the 1911 platform and love the Fusions I have. I have been mostly a target shooter but these long slides interest me for hunting.. It seems that many people like these for deer size game... Any suggestions on options?

I know a bunch of folks here think gold plating has no business being on a 1911, but in this case, that isn't me. This piece is as close to a work of art as I've seen. Absolutely stunning. I am green with envy and am storing these pics for future reference just in case I ever get rich.

Yes, The gold is very expensive and the cost varies with the market... Most of these with all the bells and whistles like the Fancy top serrations with reveal and a high quality finish, you will be in the range of $5,000... The Gold is really expensive.

For Sgt Vic.... It depends on if you want optics or iron sights, If you intend to use optics, the tactical Hunter is the way to go. This way you can mount out scope mounting system that mounts on this rail. If you don't want optics, than the traditional Hunter will be a good choice.

The Ion Bond DLC would be the best for rugged use.... Or some will go with a combination of colors, using Our Yukon coat to add some color to the project... If you like the silver look the hard satin chrome is also an options... Some pics below:

I have a 5 inch 45 acp Pro-Series ION 35 on order, But I am working up a build list for one of these Hunters in 10mm. I just have to choose what I want, the tactical or the traditional...I have to think on it some...I guess if I get the tactical I can use the Scope mount system, but I am not sure I will need that. I have never shot optics on a pistol before, but as my eyes are not getting any younger, I am considering it..;)

Beautiful Guns!

I'm having a lot of reliability issues with my Wilson Combat Tactical Elite 10mm. Wilson keeps saying it's the ammo and I say hogwash. FTF's with factory and my very "in spec" handloads.

I have heard others on this forum talk about how reliable the Fusion is and that it will eat just about all good 10mm loads.

What can I expect if I order one? Thanks

Thank you for the nice comments, Many folks here can tell you how good they shoot.... We feed each one with Hornady HP's, Remington 180's, Federal 180's and CCI 200 grain at test fire... Some bullet geometries may need some additional throating, but the way we do it generally takes care of most of them...

Beautiful

These are extremely beautiful. I am really liking this design and platform. I am pretty new to the Fusion world (I don't own one yet, but you are definitely getting my business when I can make it happen). You have probably noticed I have been posting a bit lately on some of these threads. I noticed in one of the other Fusion threads that you guys are working on a 1911 model that is all black ion bond or something like that; even the barrel. Just curious, have you ever done one of these 10mm longslides like that? I think that might be kinda awesome.

Another quick question: will the rail on the Tactical Hunter fit such weaponlights as the x300? Is it the same standard rail that I have seen on so many other 1911s or is it specifically made to fit that optic platform Fusion makes?

Yes, We can Ion Bond Black the barrel, that is not a problem, When you go with an all black or 2 tone such as the Metallic Yukon Gray frame and black small parts, the black barrel looks very nice.

The rail will fit all standard accessories.
