the original Norma specs for the first 10mm rounds were a 200gr. at 1200 fps and a 170gr. @ 1400 fps.

of course many in the fbi got the job because of college degrees and not policing skills so the round had to be watered down. federal did that first. then s&w figured to take the watered down federal load and put it into a smaller casing so the other fbi persons of petite staure could hold a gun grip with the rounds in it the same as the 9mm or .45acp.

none of the big three or even five make a true 10mm round.

Double Tap used to and still claims to do so today but they havent been living up to specs.....better than the big three but not what they claim on the box at all.

Buffalo bore makes real 10mm ammo but only loads heavy rounds for it, no mid or light weight bullets.

DT is about as close as you can get to real 10mm ammo without spending $1.00 per round. BB is the real deal but your bank account weeps evey trigger put.

of course you could load your own but that can be said for every defensive round.....

The Winchester 175g Silvertip is a real 10mm rd; tested in numerous guns for an average of 1200fps.

More than enough for most launchers.....

for that weight and recorded velocity its a mid powered load at best. of course some companies actually load the 175gr sthp to what winchester claims to...

its good to see them diversify. they are about the only makers of true 10mm ammo out there, but i cant afford them so i have to go with DT when i can.

I mean, specifically, controllable follow-up shots.
Yes, there are exceptions, but I, and most folks I know, aren't that good....serious-10mm recoil is fierce.

try a Glock 20 with a wolff 22 pound recoil spring assembly. the fierceness you appear to be experiencing will become quite tame.

believe me, if my CDE could handle real 10mm loads like my G20 id choose it first.

if i get a 200gr. @1200 fps and a 165gr @1400 fps im good to go.
