I am going to purchase a 40 S&W pistol. I see very few 1911's offered in this cartridge. Is this a problematic cartridge in the 1911? Or are they not being produced due to lack of demand.
Recommendations and their pluses and minuses appreciated. The only polymer framed pistol I would consider is an HK.
A metal framed hammer fired pistol is the goal. No other options and/or calibers need apply. I have a BHP in 40 S&W and desire another pistol in this loading.
I know of the disadvantages of the 40 compared to others. And no, I won't shoot 40 in my 10mm's.
I'm sure the 1911 gurus have valuable input on this. Thanks in advance.
