I'm not a guy who owns a bunch of guns. I sell or never buy anything I don't intend to shoot. So I have a 1911 I shoot SS IPSC with and a Ruger Mark II with a bull barrel that I use to shoot steel matches with every now and then. Not often.

A 2011 would be pretty good size for a CCW. But logical if that's the only one you shoot. I never shoot anyone else's hand gun. Everything I do is mentally tuned for one hand gun. Plenty of IPSC shooters will borrow a gun to shoot in a local match to see if they want one like it or want to buy the one they borrowed after shooting a match with it to see how it runs. This is a good practice.

I do not follow the idea of a DEFENSIVE handgun. I think its faulty thinking. Being timid with a handgun is a death warrant in the right situation. A moving target is damn hard to hit. So close the distance on an oblique angle.
If there is going to be an engagement, no way out, encounter, pull it and start cranking. A revolver is a good defensive weapon. I like the Springfield XDS. But to be honest...they are shoot and run. Just an opinion.
