I've had several others, but admit my current Supers, Colt, Kimber, STI, are pretty pedestrian compared to the Supers some of you guys are shooting.

FWIW, I've never had any trouble finding factory .38 Super ammo. Even during the great ammo panics, the LGS had it. Super ammo was available even when 9mm was near unobtanium. Of course, between panics Super ammo will never be available as cheaply, and in the great variety of loads, as the most popular centerfire pistol cartridge on the planet..

38 Super is not Forgotten, the people have spoken and it's just not wanted. It has a very small following, but I'd say it's place is more so for re-loaders. I've never seen 38 Super ammo on a shelf and I've never seen a 38 Super pistol in a gun shop.

Well my mind is blown, sad I didn’t know that. I have a RIA already.

I don’t have experience with Kimber, but I do with SA. Do you? What would you recommend?
Fairly certain SA nor Kimber are currently making 38 supers. I would gladly have one or both. If i run across a used one (either) at a realistic cost it would be mine.

Why not just buy a Garrison or Range Officer in 9mm and plug in a Super barrel? Lots of us have done it. Works great, too.

Upon Looking Most of the standard stores are out of stock.Especially on the ones in a Decent price under 1k.I imagine bc it's just Feb the manufacturers who make them are not up to meet the demand bc it's unusual compared to 9,10 or say 45.Heres what I did find on gun broker

I already have several Colt Supers. Including a Clark custom he later hard chromed for me. Most recent is the stainless Competetion that is a shooters dream.

And Ed Brown stainless.

A Kimber stainless 38 super would trip the switches for me.

Think SA only made carbon steel with one or two silver finishes. But not sure.

Seems sad to live in a 38 super desert.

Central VA has an abundance of both.
I joyfully shoot the snot out of my Supers.

Had to chime in here. I read up on the .38 Super and decided to purchase a DW Guardian. It should get here to my FFL dealer on Tuesday. Where I messed up in my research is not going around to my local stores to see if I can even find ammo for it LOL. I’m tempted to get a DW 9mm barrel so I can at least shoot it until I can locate ammo for it. I live in deep South TEXAS. Maybe the cartels are buying it all up here and sneaking it across.
