I have read that no tools are needed to field strip a 1911a1, .38 cal. wadcutter when I try to remove the barrel bushing it seems to be extremly tight, using a tool has helped some but it is still hard to remove. I wanted to do a good cleaning which would have included removing the barrel but I can't remove the bushing. I put a drop or two of oil on the bushing but it did not seem to help at all.
Do I need to get out the vise grips and penatrating oil and work it back and forth ????
