Will see if this was worth sharing.

Pics below of new Bodyguard 2.0 with Tijicon mount plate and cheap ADE optic. Just wanted to post so others can decide what they want (or specifically might not want.) The optic is slightly wider than the pistol, but in the holster, it is flush with the profile.

I’m a retired 26 year LEO that wears glasses with progressive lenses. I now have dots on all my handguns. Just where I am in life, and I still want to be able to hit targets from the other end of a supermarket aisle.

Didn’t ask what you think about it, but feel free. Again, posting to show what it looks like in this configuration. Not to stir controversy of optics vs IT ISN’T THAT KIND OF PISTOL.

Love the weight and size of the new BG 2.0. Great option for small AIWB and occasional pocket. Don’t see it being my daily, just an option for treking, cycling and low-profile.

Range day tomorrow, so will decide to keep it on, or revert. Mount $40, optic $99. Also need to fabricate or mod an AIWB.

I think you can find a much better optic with a smaller footprint for that pistol. Riton makes one that works very well, is sized right for these pocket rockets and is just over a hundred bucks. I've got one on a SIG P365XL and it's no wider than the slide.

I bought a 2.0 for my wife. The ergos and trigger are fantastic. The huge gap in the rear sight makes it difficult to wring out the potential accuracy though. I can see the benefit of a red dot in that regard.

I don't dislike the idea of a red dot on a pocket pistol, but what stopped me from doing it to my p938 is you kinda lose the ability to put it in your pocket.

With the slim width of the slide, a leupold micro dot may be a more svelte option.

Range report big thumbs up. Shot 200rnds Win white box. 15 yard medium pace fire on dot targets. Small plate shots were all at 25yrds. No FTF, FTE, etc. I did ride the slide stop with my off hand thumb almost every time. When purposely kept it clear, locked back after last round. Hornady Critical Defense fed 100% (used to drag on ramp of my G43.) Fantastic little pistol that shoots well above the price point. Barrel does heat up, but look at how thin it is in the pic. Saving the weight. Not a firearm I’m going to be shooting alot at one time. It is SUPER comfortable to shoot. I used to have a PF9 that was snappy as hell. The trigger was gritty out of the box, but is fine now and getting better with use.

Thank you MontanaFan. The sights are one of the things that is keeping me from shooting it quite as accurately as I would like to. I got mine a few weeks ago and have put a little over 400 rounds through it, mostly 95 grain FMJ Blazer Brass with a mix of some defensive ammo that I wanted to test, and it has had no issues.

I mainly carry a stock P365-380 and I just really enjoy shooting it and shoot it well. I can easily get on target with the green tritium sights but the tiny front orange sight and wide rear on the BG 2.0 is tough on my 57 year old eyes. I'll have to think about this option versus just some better sights since XS now has the R3D 2.0 Night Sights.

I'm very skeptical of new pistol models and the gun industry in general but I gotta say S&W has been doing a lot of things very well in recent years. I got a BG 2.0 and put a Vortex Defender CCW on it, and that combo was so dang good I made an article out of it that I believe will appear in the Guns & Ammo "Red Dot" special coming out soon.

I took the Picatinny base provided with the Vortex and machined it into an adapter plate which screws into a recess milled in the top of the slide; then the sight is screwed to the top of the plate.

I bought a holster from JM Custom Kydex and I could see that "they understand" about holsters. The holster is a little extra long to help keep the stubby little thing stable IWB.

I definitely agree with this. I purchased a different holster for my BG 2.0 originally, and while there is nothing wrong with it, the JM Custom Kydex is on another level.

This was the first time I tried out a new holster and was wowed by how comfortable it was. The bit of extra length helps, it is a bit slimmer than my other one, and I hardly notice it compared to any of my other holsters for my small pistols. In fact, I am going to order one for my P365 and hope that it has the same effect as this one does. I found a Reddit post where a guy compared the JM Custom Kydex holster, another brand, as well as to the Muddy River Tactical, which is the other one I had, and the only one I could find early on.

It was after reading that, seeing the comparison pictures, and asking a some questions, that I decided to give it a try and I am so glad that I did. I truly cannot believe how comfortable it is. Sorry for veering off topic but I just want to let anyone who has not tried JM Custom Kydex, at least for the BG 2.0, know that it really is a game changer for this gun to me.
