You're mad at Bud's Guns because FedEx grounded their planes, trucks due to tornado activity?

I had a similar problem a few years ago when shipping from Tenn, just took it stride!

Respectfully,

Buds is usually the best deal shipped, however if you want the cheapest price shipped next day then you need to pay to be a fast track member. Otherwise, pay cash, get the cash price and wait 10 days. That's the deal. Patience has its perks.

ordered my 1911 SA RO on Sunday. Today they finally had a FedEx number for it, but it hasn't arrived at any FedEx location!

In the end it cost me $13 more than my local gun shop, and I'll be lucky if I have it middle-late next week!

Bud's Guns NEVER again!

done with my rant
Why buy from Bud's if it costs more? I don't understand. I've bought a couple guns from Buds and no problems at all. You do have to wait a few days for it to arrive tho. They tell you this up front. If I could have got the guns for the same price locally I would have bought them locally. Both guns I bought were at great savings.

I have bought several guns from Buds the last 10 years or so and the experiences were generally excellent. The last time there was a glitch which didn't really bother me because I understand that no one is perfect and things happen when you deal in that type of sales volume. My issue was with the absolute arrogance of their representative. If that guy is still there their reputation is going to go down hill.

OP, how old are you? Is it old enough that a few days, even a week out of your life is going to matter? It is just a gun, when it shows up, hop over to the range and try to wear it out. Till then you may continue to whine if it makes you feel better. My LGS gets about 4 or 5 shipments a week from Buds, almost all buyers are anxious and start calling the day before the gun is due to arrive. They are told, to a man, that they will be called when the gun is ready for delivery. Fedex shows about 2PM nearly every day. The gun has to be unpacked and inspected and then logged into their FFL books. Then the phone call is made.

I normally ignore posts like this but I can't let this one go.

Sounds like you didn't do your homework. If you did you would have known the details and costs involved.

If you have a problem with a place you did business with then take it up with them. This forum or any other social media is not the place for it.

Sorry for the tough love but that is how I see it.

Edit: The Range Officer is a terrific gun hope you enjoy it.

Mac, this is precisely the place that grievances with private and public sellers/merchants/vendors should post their experiences for three reasons

1 - sellers/merchants/vendors knowing that their name may end up posted on a naughty list thread of a public forum encourages them to have a process in place before making sales.

2 - if things with a particular sale do go wrong, whoesever fault, then sellers/merchants/vendors knowing that their name may end up posted on a naughty list thread of a public forum encourages them fix it after the fact. I've seen this done many many times on other forums. not only does it fix the problem, but it gives other potential buyers that if things do go wrong with their sale, the sellers/merchants/vendors will make it right.

3 - it indirectly encourages new buyers, like me, to do their homework before making a purchase. Admittedly I failed to do this. There were additional fees an policies printed in font size 2 on Bud's webpage, that if I had read through it, I would have been better informed to make the decision. I had "heard" good things about buying from Buds, so I happhazordly made the purchase without reading font size 2, my fault. Going into it the transaction, my expectation was that I might save as much as $30, and have to wait 3-5 days. That didn't happen.

so I WON'T do this again, I'll pay the extra $30 and have the firearm in my hand that same day.

Mac, I do agree with you that often someone gets on a forum and lambasts a sellers/merchants/vendors with foul language acting like a 2year old toddler having tantrum needing his diaper changed, then that's a different matter. I don't think that's the tone of my "Bud's Guns NEVER again!" thread. My post was specific, concise, and without ugly emotions thrown in, in fact a bit of humor ending with "done with my rant "

Actually, grievance threads are generally not permitted on this forum. Please review the rules in the Member's Market section. I also fail to see a problem here. Bud's never guarantees next-day shipping on any firearms, nor do any other online sellers that I am aware. Both of my online purchases through Grabagun took four days before they shipped out. They have to ensure the paperwork is correct and deal with the fact that there are likely dozens, if not hundreds of guns in line to be shipped out at any given time. It's called patience.

I'm on "Team Bud's" and have bought several things from them, including some items that were not guns. No real issues (that were their fault) worth complaining about.

Anytime I have to wait for a gun I'm excited to finally get and just spent a ton of money on, I'm never going to be happy waiting the 2-4 weeks (processing, shipping, 10-day wait, etc.) it can be before it's finally in my possession. But Bud's has decent prices and they will get it to you.

And their customer service has been decent in my experience. They seem like a lot of places, busy and working hard, but a couple few more people would make a huge difference.

I've never had a problem with Buds. I buy locally EXCEPT when we are talking $100 or more over Buds pricing. I always give the local guys a chance to come somewhere in between. But when I do buy from Buds, I typically recieve the gun from 4-6 days after placing the order. Once it was a little over a week, but a holiday weekend was in the mix too.

Received my first gun purchase from Buds yesterday. Saved me well over $100 plus no 7% tax. They shipped it seven business days after my check cleared. Very responsive when I email them. Will use again. Gun stores are busy ! My last purchase from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore took over a week to ship also.

I have always had wonderful luck with Buds. You have to allow at least a 1 week between the time you click to complete the sale and you pick it up at the local FFL dealer.

Price comes in generally a few bucks less than local. But I buy from Buds because when I am looking for a very specific model, they are generally the only ones that have it, and I hate calling 4 or 5 LGS looking for some specific gun with specific sights.

I've purchased seven guns from buds, and they only bungled one transaction. However, they were prompt and professional in correcting the problem. Sure, it takes a bit longer to receive orders from them than it does from some of the other online retailers, but they are arguably one of the best online retailers in terms of stock, selection, and price.

Haven't ordered from Bud's, but have read enough reviews from the past year to know what to expect if i should. It's always a hit or miss when ordering from online vendors.

From Bud's website:
There are NO SHIPPING charges for firearms at BudsGunShop.com. The only exception being Long Guns shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The shipping charge for most small accessories is $9. Whenever possible, we will combine shipping for multiple small accessories on the same order. Shipping insurance is offered at a rate of $1 per $100 ordered item(s) value. BudsGunShop.com is not responsible for uninsured items lost or damaged in transit by UPS or USPS. If you would like to review the total shipping charges for your order, click Checkout to preview the order. You can preview the order, including shipping charges, before you click to Confirm your order. The shipping and handling charge covers the cost of standard shipping. If you require expedited shipping, the shipping fees will be greater. You must contact us for a quote if you require expedited shipping. We do NOT ship to PO Boxes.

Firearms normally ship within 3-7 working days after we receive your payment and a copy of the Federal Firearms License. Non-firearm orders normally ship from 3 to 7 days after we receive your payment.

Sympathy........it's in the dictionary between ship & syphilis!

lots of positive responses to Bud's maybe my first with them was just what it was because of my lack of "homework done"

none the less the three reason for this type of thread still stands. if a moderator decides to remove well that's his/her decision. my post is clearly not of spite or emotion, just my experience which as been less than desirable! so I won't buy from Bud's again, and hopefully others will read this thread and be more more cautious and better informed than I about on-line gun purchases.

my OP still holds true as do my three points.

many here have said there peace as I have, done.

Tantrum was the word that came to my mind....

"done with my rant "

Edit for constructive content: Both of my purchases from Buds went smoothly and saved me money.

Buds is always slow to ship, but when they do ship, it's via 2 day service. I'm not defending them (I don't like this practice either), but it seems like a trivial reason to swear off a retailer. Paying $13 more than you could have gotten it for locally is nobody's fault but your own.
