I am a member of a gun club on Staten Island NY and they do centerfire pistol matches at least 3 times a month it’s 60 rounds at 25 yards we also do the uspsa matches
Yep, 4 grains with a lubed 230 gr lead would work.
If you are using a coated lead bullet, I would go 4.2 if you want to make major with a little headroom.
Good luck.
You need 165PF + a little margin (~5-7PF) for the USPSA matches. Oldfut's load should be good to go out of most 5" 1911 with a 230LRN. Great load!

For me, 4.1gr Bullseye was 168-172PF out of several guns in varying weather with 230LRN at 1.250" with CCI300's or FED150's.
You may want to also consider trying some 200LSWC for events, makes for nice controlled pairs....if they feed well. ;)
