Anyone have experience with CDNN? They state that their 1911 7 round .45 mags are made in the same factory as original equipment mags shipped with guns. Would that be Checkmate or Metalform? Looking for Colt 7 round .45s in stainless. Thanks.

I’ve purchased from them before there products are mediocre at best . If you want good magazine’s buy name brand mags. A few years back I purchased three 9mm 1911 mags for a Turkish brand 1911 2 of them were out of spec . That’s my experience anyways…

CDNN specializes in odd lots & close outs. You do find an occasional deal in their ads. I got a Girsan (Turkish made) Hi-Power clone for $387 all inclusive send to my FFL's door a few weeks ago. I've got north of 500 trouble free rounds through it.

I have bought

I have done a significant number of orders with CDNN. They have some cheap, low quality stuff but I bought a lot of SIG SAUER closeout magazines and leather for 25% of MSRP on some items.

Also got a superb Browning/FN SFS fro them too in a similar closeout situation.

If you have a doubt, call them and ask on the 1911 magazines.

I don't know why, but there are more cheap no-name magazines floating around for 1911s than for any other firearm design out there. Many are packaged and sold as GI surplus, while others get a fake Colt logo stamped on them and are sold as OEM Colt mags. Buyer beware on all of them. I've bought a lot of good stuff from CDNN but I've also been burned as well. The last time was with supposedly genuine Colt 1911 medallion grips in factory packaging that turned out to be ill-fitting knock-offs.

I am very cautious when ordering from CDNN unless its a name brand item I am certain is not a knock off. Sometimes a sale will result in a few bargains from CDNN but "their mags" are not on my radar. CDNN has really stung me on shipping costs so watch that aspect of dealing with them. As to mags , heck I got Wilson ,McCormick, Brown , Colt( as in real Colt) mags and problematic performance in some 1911 with them and flawless operation in other 1911. The only mags I buy that work in all my fleet (or swarm) of 1911 pistols is Mec Gar.

I've purchased a few guns and mags from CDNN in the past. I personally never had any issues. As long as you know what you're looking for and they have it at a good price, I would not hesitate. For 1911 mags, my go to are Wilson ETMs. Any other type of handgun it will be either the factory mag or MecGars. Avoid Promags like the plague and anything made overseas.

Unless the magazines specifically say who made them, I'm not paying for them. I have bought from them before and had good luck, but it was always a known product.
