I started reading Chucks columns in the 1970's. He was the person that convinced me the best combat Rifle was the Galil .308 ARM , and his columns convinced me to buy one. I never got a chance to meet Chuck or Jeff Cooper, but did take classes from Walt Rausch, Tom Campbell and Ken Hackathorne. I actually introduced Scott Duff of M1 Garand fame to Hackathorne and he introduced me to Walt Rausch in Pittsburgh in the early 1980's. Scott Duff and I formed the first IPSC club in Pittsburgh at Cherokee and later I went on to start the Miller Invitational at Crowfoot in Fulton NY.
Chuck was a founding member of the Jeff Cooper school of pistolcraft. RIP Chuck, you were one of the great ones.....
