My prediction is that if you attempt to straighten that loop, it'll end up broken or marred. Just leave it alone. Trust me on this one. I've witnessed many guys snap off the hardened loops while trying to straighten them.
If you just can't stand it, wait until you have access to proper tools and purchase a replacement loop and install it. You'll be happier in the long run.
