Does anyone know where I can get a latch (black plastic) for a current production (at least last 7 years) blue Colt factory case?

I highly doubt anyone sells the latches. You should be able to find another blue case for sale if you can avoid the idiots who like to pretend they're worth hundreds of dollars.

I called this morning and spoke to a nice guy who was all ready to send me a new case, until I gave him the serial and he said, "Oh, it's an older gun. It's outside the warranty period, but I'll try to push it through." So if a case shows up in the next week or so, I'll have my answer.

So FYI, if you've got a "newer" gun and have case issues, call Colt Customer Service and you can apparently just get a replacement sent to you.

P.s. The guy also said they're are actually trying to get some of those black latches sent to them to keep on hand because that does come up from time to time.

I never use the cases, or even boxes any of my guns came in. I hold onto them just for the sake of preserving the gun's resale value, but I always store them in my safe in pistol rugs instead.
