I have a question about disassembling my Defender for cleaning. I can pull the slide back to the little notch but I can’t hold it in place long enough to push out the pin. In 2015 my right thumb was amputated and repaired due to a drunk roadie. As a result I don’t have a lot of strength in my right hand. This is why I use a Maglula to load my mags.
So my question: is there some sort of device that I can use to hold the slide in the right place long enough to remove the pin? I tried letting the slide rest on my fingers but two fingers isn’t enough and three is too much. I have a wood shop, would it hurt to make a wooden wedge just for that purpose?
