"The Browning High Power Automatic Pistol" by R. Blake Stevens gives a good overall view of the history of the BHP. Lots of photos too. I used to own one of the last BHPs that was made and assembled in Belgium. External extractor model of course. It was a reliable, fun to shoot pistol but not the easiest to shoot well. I prefer the current CZ pistols tuned for target and match use when using an all steel pistol. But the BHP is a Hell of a lot of fun and history in one package.
