Well after the gun bans and confiscation, the criminals could import newer guns that are much more lethal. Plus I bet some good machinists were making guns too. I remember reading about them hiding crates of military hardware and ammo in the containers coming into the country. With many thousands of containers coming and going, there is no way for the government to check them all.

Well honestly even though its somewhat far fetched, and a long shot....

but... this may be the real motive behind the killings in Vegas... and its really the only scenario I can come up with that still fits.

Australia knows its gun ban is failing badly. So they want guns banned in other areas so gun running stops (yeah impossible reality, but they're desperate since their ideology is failing in the UK and across the EU),

So what would happen if... they set up a mass shooting or used this individual in some way, perhaps gambling debts, perhaps just ideologically. Either way, they want guns banned in the USA too.

What if his girlfriend was actually linked to the Australian government or some other interest there ideologically aligned.

They set up the shooting using this agent, provide all the explosive extras and how to use all the equipment. He doesn't care, he's 64 at this point, not much life left to live.

They plan the shooting, targeting people who would never support gun control in order to flip the board, send the girlfriend off to the Philippines, and wire cash there, since the Philippines are a hotbed of ISIS activity, to misdirect the investigation.

Basically pull it off, and then seed their allies in the news media and Democrat party with gun control stories and talking points, (Such as Silencers and Bump Stocks)... in hopes to coerce the USA to take measures to ban guns.

This would mean our friends weren't exactly our "friends".

Yeah its a theory that's way out there, but honestly its the only motive I can come up with that actually includes all the known players.

I think you'd do better with a theory that attacking most likely Trump supporters, you could convert them to anti gun. Or it was the gun industry trying stir up ban fear to raise up flagging sales.

Color me surprised, criminals have guns, how about that. They get better guns, how about that. When will criminals learn that the laws are there to follow and not break for profit? Oh yeah, when it becomes to costly to do so.

Yes that is kind of assumed that was the intent... if we assume it was Australia or someone ideologically aligned with them.... since their target was country music fans who apparently were singing God Bless America when he opened fire.

If they flip Trump supporters to accept gun banning, then they would succeed in getting what they wanted out of the attack.

yeah those are the ones. Plus a plethora of other kinds including single shot, multi-shot and semi-automatics too. I remember watching a video news story of the cottage industry in the Philippines of them making 1911 copy firearms using basic tools for the most part. Some of the copies were really really good too.

Just wait until the gangs start using those RPG's they smuggled into Australia. I expect there is a huge turf war about to erupt there.

The liberals ignore the bad news as it goes against their thoughts and ideology. But they will shift the blame for it failing onto someone else or something else instead.

The idiot liberals forgot that the "Great Prohibition" against alcohol was a complete and total failure. A gun ban does nothing to improve the situation, it only results in the same problem getting worse.

Australia is losing farms and ranches at a increasing rate too. They lose their guns and can't shoot the vermin fast enough anymore to keep up. Australia is looking at being a food importer now as they won't be able to grow food to feed their people anymore. Just wait and see when the people in the urban areas will be complaining about the marauding pigs destroying their yards etc. But there won't be anyone able to do anything about it. There are other animals too, but the pigs are pretty prolific though.

I guess you have a very low opinion of the morals of firearms manufacturers. I suspect gun makers are at least as moral a the average American, no one makes guns wanting them to be used to commit murder.

That said... its also hilarious they're actually trying to "Repeal the Second Amendment"... after watching the total failure of a gun ban... on what is in essence an Island in the middle of the Pacific....

You have to be a special kind of stupid to really believe in that at this point.

And somehow thinking its going to Magically and mysteriously work THIS time.

This of course is the real reason... no ground should be given on any bans or gun control... its all a failure... and does little but disarm legal people, criminals just end up better armed than they were before, and don't follow laws anyway.
