I believe that their system has been hacked and the emails are a phishing scam. Dont click the links until it can be verified with them.

I have sent in an email and tried calling but no one answered.

If you clicked on one of the links, you may want to change your passwords.

Yeah, I got three e-mails claiming to be from Colt Archives. They all looked fishy and the addresses were not Colt addresses, so I deleted them. I always check the e-mail address where the e-mail supposedly came from to see if the source address fits or not. I just got an e-mail from the real Colt Archives warning me about the phishing scam.

Yep, "phishy". I see more gun enthusiasts complaining about phishing and extortion style emails lately. I don't know if gun sites just aren't keeping their guard up, or if they're being targeted. Small-time sites (relative to Amazon and Google) are just more susceptible.

Don't ever use the same password for more than one site. Take advantage of 2-factor authentication where you can (confirmation to a secondary device like a cell phone). If you really want to confuse yourself more than anyone else, create a different email address for every small site that asks for one. That might be a little overboard :)

BUT, it would tell you whose site got hacked if anyone tried to phish or extort you at that email address.
