I came across a picture of a 1911 with a Drake National Match slide that I've never seen before on any other 1911. There are similar ones, but I happen to be very partial to this particular slide. The description states that it was only manufactured in 1964 and that it features front cocking serrations (which seems unheard of at that time). I was curious as to where and if these slides can be found nowadays as I'd like to acquire one. Does anyone have this particular slide here on the forum? Is there any additional information that can be found on them?

Best Regards

Well, after nearly a year of being a mute ghost here, this is the topic that will lure me out of my shell. I can tell you about that gun, since I'm building a replica of it myself.

What you see there isn't a CAD model, but an airsoft replica made by a Japanese hobbyist. Its a rpelica of the main character's custom M1911 from the 2004 video game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The game is set in 1964, and the gun is a strange mishmash of retro coolness and modern day "tacti-cool".

The slide isn't real. The number there, 7267719, isn't found in any National Match parts lists, and was never really used on any slide. It was a fake number made specifically for this game's custom weapon to give it an even more unique look. It is implied during the game that the slide is of the same ilk of the same-year Drake slides, being heavier and reinforced.

The original page for this airsoft gun can be found her ein its native language, translated by Google:

They can. However, I ordered my slide logo-less from Caspian, opting to send it to Mr Dale Woody of Washington state to engrave it. I did this for several reasons, namely I was able to send him both my replica's slide and my 1964 Drake slide as an example, which worked out very well. He was also able to engrave the numbers in deeper, since the slide will receive a mirror polish eventually. Lastly, I like to keep indy artisans in business, and every little bit helps.

Be aware, though, that Caspian wasn't able to put the front vertical serrations so far forward for me. I opted to leave that part of the slide bare so I can get exactly what I want when its time to send it to the pro.

Well the trigger looks like a Ned Christiansen rip off, the front cocking serrations don't match the spacing on the rear (maybe) the barrel has a thread protector for the can threads ala Dave Erickson, the BT looks like an old school Pac. Slide looks like a MilSpec GI NM. Let me look again for a while. Front sight way too high for the rear profile sights too.
