Just out of curiosity, why do you lean towards the EB Alpha Elite for $800 more over DW? Don't get me wrong, I was having a moral dilemma and hoping others would say EB to give me a good excuse to get one :)

I don't think he was necessarily leaning towards the "Alpha Elite", you put that model out there. Just that any Ed Brown would be a better choice than a Dan Wesson. And it's not $800 more DW $2012, EB $2695 so $683 difference.

I have a DW Classic, and it is nice. Just not the same build quality and performance as I get from my Ed Brown pistols. I haven't shot the Wesson since I've gotten my Ed Brown's.

But to some $683 can make or break a purchase.

Except that you can get Valors in the $1400-1500 range for stainless, and $1700-1800 for duty coat. How much under MSRP is the EB? For that price difference, you can have some pretty nice upgrades to the Valor, should you desire.
DW Valor list is $2012, Ed Brown list is $2695. A good dealer can beat both of those prices. In my opinion an upgraded DW Valor is still not close to an Ed Brown.

If you go through our infamous Jerry, you will be pleased with the price. http://hammondgunandtackle.com/

My personal opinion of course. Besides other makers I have DW, Ed Brown, and Wilson. My choice is an Ed Brown. Other people may have a different view. Only showing three below for eyeball comparison.

Boy, I'd have been upset with that Jerry guy. Not even consecutive numbers. They are four numbers apart. :hrm:

That is a nice pair and different calibers to boot. You will have many happy hours shooting them.
