I have a Slide marked as follows, the letter "M" on the top round of the slide towards the rear, "MFR 2U894" on one side of the slide and the drawing number 7790314 on the other side of the slide. I was told this was a USGI replacement slide. Anyone have any info that could ID this slide? thanks-

Thats what you got. There were a few attempts to get parts enough to keep the guns running till the decision on a new gun/supply of the new guns arrived. You would have to look up the cage number/part number to see who made it. The steel on the last replacement slides is on par with current commercial guns and a much better choice for fooling around with. Keep in mind these in unaltered form will apreciate.
