Yeah, I always viewed removing the magazine disconnect is a “must do” modification to any Hi-Power. Springfield just outright omitted it on their SA35 models.

You want to do a real change? Replace the barrel with the Brownell's barrel.

 

Brownell's barrels are no longer available. FWIW, I tried one back when they were available and it wouldn't fit any of my Hi-Powers without modification. The last barrel I bought was from BHSS and it dropped right into all of them.

 

Bad news about the Brownell"s barrel. I had excellent results with it on a used Girsan HP.

 

The BHSS trigger subassembly is a worthwhile upgrade on these. Big difference in pre-travel and geometry.

 

The question I ask myself is how much money do I want to dump into a clone?

I’m a shooter not a collector. I’ve looked at the BHSS barrels. I’m sure they are quality and worth the price but they’re nearly as much as I paid for my Girsan Hi-power clone.

A BHSS barrel and trigger in a new Girsan costs less than the same in a used FN.
If I was a collector, I would leave everything stock, unfired.
As a shooter, both items are worth every penny.

I have the same Navidex grips on mine. Which Trijicon night sights did you get and do they shoot to POA (and at what distance)?

I am only waiting on the purported new Apex safety to put on mine (if I like it),

 

If you don't require the ambi safety, Cylinder & Slide make a dandy extended LS thumb safety.
