Do any of you knowledgeable folks have experience with the Girsan MC1911S XLV?
YouTube seems to have some reviewers that think the MC1911S is reasonable while others not so much. And given the number of variants Girsan often produces I can’t seem to find a review specific to the XLV version (I think it was a Davidson exclusive). Difficulties with the extractor and magazines seem a common theme. Any thoughts?
I appreciate any insights you might provide.

I own a Girsan MC1911 C XLV and so yes, I have some experience.

Notice the somewhat unusual round count.

The reason I stopped after 53 rounds is ...

... the barrel bushing broke. Usually that would not be an issue since I keep barrel bushings in my range bag but the Girsan MC1911 C XLV uses a non-standard smaller in length and diameter than normal size and none of the brazillion bushing I had would fit.

Since the Girsan MC1911 C XLV was only about a week old EAA did email me a replacement and I also bought a couple spares to have on hand.

"Other than that Mrs Lincoln how was the play?"

It came with only a single ACT (Mec-Gar) magazine and in about as flimsy a case as I've seen in years. The fit and finish is barely passable with a very thin easily scratched surface and several scratches all the way through the surface, particularly a horizontal scratch under the slide stop. Accuracy and reliability have been satisfactory but it just looks like a pieces parts product. Little things like the thumb safety just look wrong and the right side safety has lots of play.

It's not bad and not something I don't take to the range but I really haven't the confidence that I have with the Tisas 1911s that were less expensive than the Girsan and do use standard size pieces parts.

I like mine, it’s taking some time and work to smooth out its operation. The trigger is good, not great, the ambi safety is rough and tight. I have a long slide 10mm, I need to shoot it way more, this would probably help with the tightness of some of the controls.
I like the pistol, so far not a failure to feed or eject, but I need to get several hundred rounds through it, to make a better review. It’s a Sportsman’s Warehouse special, green ceracote, hi vis sights, plastic grips, came with 2, 8 round magazines, for just over five hundred bucks, a great place to start a mild build.
