Had a guy tell me today that I should keep grease on my 1911 on the rails... I always thought the 1911 should only have grease in the mainspring housing and maybe the magazine release mechanism, otherwise just well oiled on all surfaces that run, and I also add oil to the barrel and inside the recoil spring assembly..
What are you all doing? Especially if the gun isn't being fired often ...
Also, anyone else using wax as a primary protection on the outside (blue, stainless, etc).. or just a light coat of oil?
